Methods: Co-inhibitory receptor [TIGIT (T cell immunoreceptor with Ig and ITIM domains), TIM-3 (T-cell immunoglobulin and mucin domain–containing 3), LAG-3 (lymphocyte activation gene 3), PD-1 (programmed cell death 1), CTLA-4 (cytotoxic T-lymphocyte–associated protein 4)] expression levels in peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMCs) were measured using reverse transcription–PCR in 19 healthy controls and 57 patients with untreated multiple sclerosis. This evidence concerns the gene CTLA4 and multiple sclerosis.
