In summary, our study has shown that polyI:C triggers IFN-β production by activating the master transcription factor IRF3, and IFN-β inhibits neutrophil infiltration, thus, alleviating AP symptoms such as edema, release of amylase and lipase, generation of ROS, and the induction of inflammatory genes by activating downstream IFNAR signaling (Figure 7). This evidence concerns the gene IFNAR1 and alkaline phosphatase measurement.
