siRNA-mediated knockdown of dectin-1, dectin-2, mincle, MyD88, TRIF, TRAM, MAL, TRAF6, DC-SIGN, NOD1, NOD2, TLR1 or TLR6 had no significant effect on the ability of C. albicans to induce c-Fos expression or MKP1 phosphorylation at 2 h post infection (p.i.)(previously determined to be the optimal time for activation2,21), indicating their collective lack of involvement in the candidalysin response pathway (Supplementary Fig. 1). The gene discussed is CD209; the disease is infection.
