INS and metabolic syndrome: In the confirmed diabetes subgroup, subjects showed more weight (p < 0.001), had a higher BMI (p < 0.001), fasting TG (p < 0.001), microalbuminuria (p < 0.001), pai-1 (p < 0.001), higher prevalence in MetS (p < 0.001) Homa-IR (p < 0.001), AUC-glucose (p < 0.001), fasting glucose (p < 0.001), 1 h glucose (p < 0.001), 2 h glucose (p < 0.001), fasting insulin (p < 0.001), and fasting C-peptide (p < 0.001) in comparison with all other subgroups.
