Early works suggest that signatures of T cell states, particularly that of CD8+ T cells, may predict clinical response to ICI-based immunotherapy.16–19 Of all cancer types analyzed, breast (BRCA) and pancreatic (PAAD) cancers demonstrated pronounced negative correlation with the estimated abundance of CD8+ T cells, indicating that TMIlow tumors harbored higher CD8+ T-cell infiltration levels in these cancers. Here, CD8A is linked to cancer.
