Because 4EBP1 is required for coupling mTORC1 signaling to Cyclin D1 expression [101] and translational inhibition can result in the loss of cell cycle regulators like the D-cyclins [105], we plan to determine the predictive value of 4EBP1 levels to CDK inhibition in breast tumors, especially in the context of dual inhibition with PI3K/AKT/mTOR inhibitors. This evidence concerns the gene PIK3CA and breast neoplasm.
