FUS and sarcoma: Genetic mutations were found in a huge number of genes, but only few of them are epidemiologically relevant, including: SOD1, encoding for the copper/zinc superoxide dismutase 1, two RNA binding proteins (RBPs), trans-activation response element (TAR) DNA binding protein (TARDBP) and fused in sarcoma/translocated in liposarcoma (FUS/TLS, herein referred to as FUS), and C9ORF72, containing a pathological hexanucleotide repeat expansion [4,5].
