Several top-ranked ALS-increased DEGs had previously been associated with ALS, such as matrix metallopeptidase 9 (MMP9) [84], ATP binding cassette subfamily G member 1 (ABCG1) [85], and selectin L (SELL/CD62L) [86] (Fig. 1a, b). This evidence concerns the gene ABCG1 and amyotrophic lateral sclerosis.
