The albumin–bilirubin (ALBI) score was originally developed to predict prognosis in patients suffering from liver cirrhosis with or without HCC.9 According to this score, which is calculated based on serum total bilirubin (T-Bil) and albumin (Alb) alone, patient prognosis is classified into one of three grades, called the ALBI grade. The gene discussed is ALB; the disease is hepatocellular carcinoma.
