It has also been reported that activated STAT1 mediates the expressions of proinflammatory cytokines (CXCL10) and interleukin production (IFN-1, IL-8, IL-10) in human IBD (Tao et al., 2013; Giles et al., 2016), down-regulated STAT1 has been proved to reduce tumorigenesis, inflammation and gastrointestinal diseases (Ernst et al., 2008; Lamarthée et al., 2015). This evidence concerns the gene STAT1 and inflammatory bowel disease.
