We also analyzed the phosphorylation levels of the corresponding Ser2808 (a substrate for several kinases, PKA and CaMKII among them) and Ser2814 (a preferential target for CaMKII) in RyR2, in light of the finding that modifications of RyR phosphorylation level account for the dysfunctional activity of cardiac RyRs in insulin-resistance and prediabetes (Dincer, 2012; Okatan et al., 2016; Sommese et al., 2016). The gene discussed is RYR2; the disease is Insulin resistance.
