IFNα has been tested in AML as induction therapy (Berneman et al. 2010), as a post-remission strategy to prevent recurrence after chemotherapy (Goldstone et al. 2001), in consolidation with allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (HSCT) (Klingemann et al. 1991), and as a salvage therapy for patients relapsing upon allogeneic HSCT (Arellano et al. 2007). This evidence concerns the gene IFNA2 and acute myeloid leukemia.
