Although direct evidence is insufficient to confirm the relationship between KDM1B activity and DNA damage repair, KDM1B might help cisplatin-resistant cancer cells to reduce chromatin compacting, and thus maintain transcriptional activation of DNA repair genes including DCLRE1B. A correlation between KDM1B and DCLRE1B expression was found in human ovarian cancer cohort studies. Here, DCLRE1B is linked to cancer.
