Corroborating results from our study in EOC, Zhang et al (2016) treated breast cancer cells with the broad septin inhibitor forchlorfenuron (FCF) and also observed a decrease in cell proliferation [17], which they attributed to the suppression of MEK and ERK1/2 (extracellular signal-regulated kinase 1/2) signaling [17]. The gene discussed is MAP2K7; the disease is breast cancer.
