Detailed analysis has demonstrated that in the setting that lacked TNFα stimulation, p65 activation mainly in the tumor cells (Figures 9A1,C1; lanes 3 vs. 1) but also to some extent in MSCs (Figures 9A1,C1; lanes 2 vs. 1) has contributed to Notch1 activation in co-cultures [please note that the differences in this case (lanes 3 vs. 1, and lanes 2 vs. 1) were detected in all experiments but did not come out statistically significant because of differences in the extent of reduction noted in each of the experimental repeats]. This evidence concerns the gene TNF and neoplasm.
