We have previously shown that loss of Dab2 expression in normal mammary epithelial cells leads to increased expression of TGFβ2 and a constitutive EMT phenotype28, and in squamous cell carcinoma (SCC), low Dab2 expression in combination with high TGFβ2 expression in tumors was correlated with reduced survival27. The gene discussed is TGFB2; the disease is squamous cell carcinoma.
