Antus et al. [15] showed an opposite effect for flutamide (the antiandrogen) and finasteride treatment, which caused reductions in glomerulosclerosis, CD5+ T lymphocytes, and the number of monocytes/macrophages; these infiltrations by immune cells were associated with decreased TGF-β, PDGF-A, and/or PDGF-B expression. This evidence concerns the gene PDGFB and glomerulosclerosis.
