BDNF and schizophrenia: Gama et al. report an increase in serum BDNF levels in rats subjected to a ketamine model of schizophrenia after n−3 PUFA supplementation, together with a reduction of positive, negative, and cognitive symptoms in n−3 PUFA-fed animals, which they speculate might have been related to increases in serum BDNF level (Gama et al. 2012).
