This is consistent with our previous report showing over-expression of OCTN1 in HEK293 cells resulted in increased sensitivity to multiple nucleoside analogs, including cytarabine20 and our current findings that inhibition of OCTN1 and ENT1 reduced the accumulation of AML cells in S-phase with gemcitabine or cytarabine treatment. Here, SLC22A4 is linked to acute myeloid leukemia.
