Cisplatin induces apoptosis mainly through the mitochondrial (intrinsic) signal pathways.28 Tubular cell apoptosis is a characteristic feature of cisplatin nephrotoxicity, which results in the loss of renal endothelial cells and renal dysfunction.29 The induction of apoptosis through the intrinsic signal pathway is regulated primarily by Bcl‐2 family proteins, notably the pro‐apoptotic Bax and anti‐apoptotic Bcl‐2 proteins. Here, BCL2 is linked to Abnormal renal physiology.
