Compared to female simple snorers, males snored louder (higher VAS score, P < 0.001), were more obese (evidenced by higher BMI, NC, WC, HC, and WHR, P < 0.05), had higher systolic and diastolic blood pressure (P < 0.001), and had more severe dyslipidemia (i.e., higher TG, LDL, and apoB and lower HDL, apoA-I, and apoE, P < 0.05). This evidence concerns the gene APOE and metabolic syndrome.
