To further confirm this observation we performed analysis on breast cancer cohorts using the Oncomine Platform [38, 39] and taking into account invasive breast cancer samples (ductal and lobular). HAX1 gene expression in invasive primary tumor was significantly elevated compared to normal tissue in 16 out of 19 analyses (Figure 1(a), legend in Figure S1).
