miR-146a has been reported to be involved in the inflammatory process of atherosclerosis, by targeting interleukin-1 receptor-associated kinase 1 (IRAK-1) and TNF receptor-associated factor 6 (TRAF-6) (Bao et al. 2015; Ramkaran et al. 2014). Here, TRAF6 is linked to atherosclerosis.
