Elevated serum levels of the pro-inflammatory chemokine interleukin (IL)-8 (CXCL8) are associated with disease burden and poor prognosis in multiple tumor types, including melanoma, renal cell carcinoma, non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC), pancreatic, breast, and ovarian cancer [35,36]. The gene discussed is CXCL8; the disease is ovarian carcinoma.
