It is noteworthy that obesity is related to the leptin receptor resistance mechanisms [35], including several aspects such as: (i) Interruption of leptin signalling in hypothalamic and other central nervous system (CNS) neurons; (ii) alteration of leptin transport across blood-brain barrier; (iii) hypothalamic inflammation, autophagy, and endoplasmic reticulum stress [36,37]. This evidence concerns the gene LEP and obesity disorder.
