CCL2 and osteoarthritis: Structurally, Cytl1 appears to resemble an IL8-like chemokine folding, with particular similarity to monocyte chemoattractant protein 1, MCP-1 (or CCL2), and appears to have a functional chemokine receptor, CCR2, that is likely to be involved in the pathogenesis of osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis [8].
