It may attribute to the complexity of the tumor microenvironment of OSCC, there is a dynamic interaction between the malignant cells of the OSCC and normal host immune cells [27], and activated T cells such as CD8 T cells are increased in OSCC compared with normal mucosa [12]; however, TMIGD2 is mainly expressed on naive T cell and its expression level is negatively correlated with T cell activation because T cell activation leads to loss of TMIGD2 expression [28]; based on this, we could observe that TMIGD2 decreased in OSCC compared with normal mucosa. The gene discussed is CD8A; the disease is neoplasm.
