In another report, the sepia ink oligopeptide extracted from marine mollusk Sepia esculenta induced apoptosis in prostate cancer cell lines through caspase-3 activation, upregulation of Bax protein expression, and downregulationin Bcl-2 level (38).The result obtained in our study shows that the F1 fraction of marine mollusk Turbo coronatus causes the induction of ROS mediated apoptosis via mitochondrial pathways in EOC cells and mitochondria. This evidence concerns the gene CASP3 and prostate cancer.
