As the frequencies of patients who were prescribed insulin sensitizers and dipeptidyl peptidase‐4 inhibitors were approximately 40 and 60% in our study population, respectively, the short time‐lag after diagnosis to treatment of diabetes and use of antihyperglycemic drugs with a possible antisarcopenic activity might help explain the inverse association between duration of diabetes and sarcopenia in our study population. The gene discussed is INS; the disease is sarcopenia.
