Because some AZD1208-treated CLL samples had lower global protein synthesis, we performed immunoblots to assess the phosphorylation levels of several PIM kinase protein translation targets, including the translation repressor protein 4E-BP1, phospho-4E-BP1 Thr37/46 and Ser65, and the phosphorylation status of p70S6K, the kinase that regulates translation (Figure 3D).
