Interestingly, IL-33 was directly correlated with TLR9 (r = 0.6; P = 0.002; n = 23) in individuals with prediabetes; and comparative analysis confirmed that higher levels of IL-33 were associated with significantly higher TLR9 expression (P = 0.003; median 8.84, n = 15 vs. median 4.6, n = 8) (Figures 5(c) and 5(d)). This evidence concerns the gene IL33 and prediabetes syndrome.
