Amongst the genotypes of BBS mice, the increased GFAP immunoreactivity was particularly noticeable and common in the brain regions of corpus callosum, subventricular zone (SVZ) of the lateral ventricle (LV) adjoining the hippocampus, the striatum, the cortex, and the hypothalamus (Fig. 1b-e). This evidence concerns the gene GFAP and Bardet-Biedl syndrome.
