Expression of the following genes detected as upregulated in 4C11+ cells in comparison with 4C11− cells was analyzed individually: VEGFC, VEGFR‐3, ANGPT2, MET, and SIX1. After adjustment for age, tumor primary site, presence of metastasis in lymph nodes, ulceration, and Breslow depth value, high expression of VEGFR‐3 (HR = 1.199; P‐value = 0.044) and ANGPT2 (HR = 1.189; P‐value = 0.002) was shown to be predictors of shorter overall survival (Fig. 4A).
