CLPTM1L was overexpressed in non-small cell lung cancer and protected tumor cells from genotoxic stress-induced apoptosis.35 RNA interference-mediated blockade of CLPTM1L could inhibit K-Ras-induced lung tumorigenesis.36 Using a higher-density chip, Wang, et al. validated the associations at 5p15.33 and 15q25.1 and identified a novel locus at 6p21.33 (rs3117582, BAT3-MSH5).37 In 2010, a meta-analysis combining 16 GWAS confirmed the susceptibility loci at 15q25.1, 5p15.33, and 6p21.33. This evidence concerns the gene CLPTM1L and neoplasm.
