A meta-analysis of 20 RCTs including mainly overweight and obese adults from 44.5 to 66 years of age with hypercholesterolemia found that after an intake mean of 2.24 g/day (1.4–4 g/day) of phytosterol-rich foods, the absolute changes in plasma CRP concentrations were not significant (−0.10 mg/dL: 95% CI −0.26, 0.05). This evidence concerns the gene CRP and Hypercholesterolemia.
