In assessing the cytogenetic abnormalities in leukemic cells of patients with secondary AML, a strong correlation between the therapy response and mutations associated with primary chemoresistance, RELN(q22) [45], and alteration of tumor suppression, TES(q31) [46], was detected (r = 1.0 for both mutations) (Figure 3A).
