TP53 and acute myeloid leukemia: An evaluation of the relationships between cytogenetic abnormalities in tumor cells, therapy response, and cell sensitivity or resistance to chemotherapeutic drugs in patients with primary AML revealed a moderate correlation between the therapy response and deletion 5 (r = 0.50), which has the worse prognostic impact in combination with some other genetic mutations [43], and a strong correlation between the resistance to cytarabine and mutation of P53(17p13.1) (r = 0.94), responsible for the impairment of P53 tumor suppressor pathways [44] (Figure 3A, Table S6).
