We suggest that the beneficial effects of IQ-1S on stroke outcome could be a combined result of JNK inhibition by the parent compound in brain tissue, NO generation during its bioconversion, their antioxidant and antiradical activity, improvement of microcirculation in cerebral tissue as result of vasodilatory activity, and decrease of blood viscosity and endothelial dysfunction. This evidence concerns the gene MAPK8 and endothelial dysfunction.
