In cancer cells, aberrant c-Met axis activation, closely related to c-Met gene mutations, overexpression, and amplification, promotes tumor development and progression by stimulating the PI3K/AKT21, Ras/MAPK22, JAK/STAT23, SRC24, and Wnt/β-catenin25 signaling pathways, among others26,27. This evidence concerns the gene MET and cancer.
