NFKB1 and infection: Consistent with our in vitro data showing universally suppressed AMPs, we found that flies infected with IIV-6 also had suppression of NF-κB signaling, as indicated by lower mRNA levels of the AMP genes Diptericin and Drosomycin compared to PBS-injected or unmanipulated flies at day 8 post-infection (Figure 7A, Supplemental Figure S2).
