After adjusting for age, sex, smoking status, regular exercise, alcohol intake, baseline BMI, follow-up BMI, and baseline hs-CRP, LDL cholesterol, and HOMA-IR, this trend remained significant with a fully adjusted HR (95% CI) for new-onset MetS of 0.33 (0.17–0.63) in the HB&IF group, 0.58 (0.40–0.84) in the HB&DF group, and 0.62 (0.41–0.93) in the LB&IF group (Table 2, Total Model 2). This evidence concerns the gene CRP and metabolic syndrome.
