The European Academy of Allergy and Clinical Immunology (EAACI) recently developed clinical guidelines on AIT for IgE-mediated food allergies: Overall, OIT is actually recommended for persistent cow’s milk, hen’s egg, or peanut allergies for children around 4 to 5 years of age on the basis of its ability to increase the threshold for clinical reactions while on OIT (grade A of recommendation) [13]. This evidence concerns the gene IGHE and food allergy.
