PLXND1 and cancer: Given the prominent role of this pathway in shaping organogenesis of cardiovascular, nervous, and other systems and its central importance in cancer biology (Moriya et al., 2010; Gay et al., 2011; Valdembri et al., 2016; Oh and Gu, 2013; Gaur et al., 2009; Gu and Giraudo, 2013; Neufeld et al., 2016; Bielenberg and Klagsbrun, 2007), our findings suggest a broad human health relevance for therapeutic targeting of the SEMA-PLXND1 pathway at the GIPC level.
