Eotaxin-1 (higher in AD plasma vs. CTL and MCI) and MCP-1 (lower in AD plasma vs. CTL and MCI), both C–C chemokine family members, were reported as plasma markers of AD status in several studies [37], [38], [39], [40], [41], [42]; elevated MCP-1 and eotaxin-1 correlated with greater memory impairment in MCI/AD [43].
