FN1 and hematologic disorder: In hematological malignancies, the integrin α4β1, upon binding to its counter-receptor, the vascular cell adhesion molecule-1 or to fibronectin, has been implicated in the chemoresistance of myeloma8–10 and B cell malignancies11–13 whereas, binding to fibronectin through integrins α4β1 and α5β1 has been associated with the chemoresistance of myeloid leukemia14–16.
