Drugs for T2DM in use were predominantly those provided by the Brazilian Public Health System which are: metformin (93,2%—n = 83/89), insulin (NPH and regular– 68,5%—n = 61/89) and sulfonylureas (glicazide or glibenclamide– 30,3%—n = 27/89). The gene discussed is INS; the disease is type 2 diabetes mellitus.
