In HCC, a metabolomic analysis revealed that phosphatidylcholine (PC) could be the predominant species in HCC tissue associated with overexpression of the lysophosphatidyl-choline acyltransferase 1 (LPCAT1) involved in the re-acylation of lysophosphatidylcholine (LPC) into PC [8]. Here, LPCAT1 is linked to hepatocellular carcinoma.
