These in many respects indistinct characteristics of the tumors can reflect overlapping genetic events such as the chromosomal translocation of the MYC gene which represents the genetic hallmark of BL but which also appears in about 5–10% of DLBCL leading to expression phenotypes resembling BL [20] and considered as a separate subtype according to the WHO classification [21]. This evidence concerns the gene MYC and diffuse large B-cell lymphoma.
