In view of the impaired behavioral performance of Tbk1-NKO mice, and based on evidence linking alterations in autophagy receptors such as p62 and neurodegenerative diseases -including ALS-, the expression of the autophagy-related proteins p62 and ubiquitin was evaluated by immunostaining in 14-month-old Tbk1-NKO mice. The gene discussed is TBK1; the disease is amyotrophic lateral sclerosis.
