There are several studies showing FAM83D gain of function in several types of cancer,22, 23 especially breast cancer.22, 24 Interestingly, up‐regulation of the FAM83D predicts cancer patients (breast, lung, liver) with a high risk of mortality.22 Wang Z et al reported that FAM83D promotes the proliferation of cancer cells through inhibition of the tumour suppressor FBXW7 in breast cancer. This evidence concerns the gene SACK1D and breast carcinoma.
