In these studies, increased activation of the adenosine A2B receptor (ADORA2B) was shown to enhance expression of the hyaluronan synthases (HAS), contributing to the pathophysiology of chronic lung disease (Garcia-Morales et al., 2016; Karmouty-Quintana et al., 2015, 2013a, 2012).
